Losing a pet is one of the hardest experiences a family can go through. Pets are more than animals, they’re companions, protectors, and members of the family. One of my recent projects at Clocktower Creations was exactly that kind of tribute. A returning client reached out to have three custom dog ornaments made in memory of her son’s dog, Enzokee, who passed away suddenly at just two years old. The ornaments were created to be shared with her son and daughters, giving each of them a lasting reminder of a dog who meant so much to their family.

Creating a Memorial That Feels Personal

For this project, the client chose a breed-specific dog ornament design, ensuring the silhouette closely matched Enzokee’s appearance. Each ornament was customized with the dog’s name and engraved wording around the edge, making every piece feel intentional and deeply personal.

Rather than creating three different designs, the client opted for the same ornament for each family member. This created a shared connection, a symbol of remembrance that each person could hold onto while still honoring the same beloved dog.

The stained backing served two purposes:

• It visually separated the design from the background, making the ornament more striking.

• It highlighted the engraved name and surrounding text, drawing the eye to the most meaningful details.

This small design choice made a big difference in the finished piece. The ornament gained depth, warmth, and a sense of intention that elevated it from a simple decoration to a true keepsake.
